1. Microsoft Research Cloud Futures 2010

Advancing Research with Cloud Computing

On April 8 and 9, 2010, the Cloud Futures Workshop brought together thought leaders from academia, industry, and government to discuss the role of cloud computing across disciplines, with the goal of highlighting how new techniques and methods of research in the cloud may solve distinct challenges arising in those diverse areas.

2. 5th IEEE International Conference on e-Science

The fifth IEEE e-Science conference was held in Oxford, UK from Dec 9-11 2009. The meeting coincided with the UK e-Science All Hands Meeting that was held from Dec 7-9th, 2009.

Scientific research is increasingly carried out by communities of researchers that span disciplines, laboratories, organizations, and national boundaries.

The e-Science 2009 conference was designed to bring together leading international and interdisciplinary research communities, developers, and users of e-Science applications and enabling IT technologies. The conference served as a forum to present the results of the latest research and product/tool developments and to highlight related activities from around the world
